We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone as
ICCD officially signed the operational agreement with
Jamia Tur Rashe to kick off the Green Waqf Project.
This initiative reflects Islamic values’ role in addressing
climate change, paving the way for a sustainable future
that empowers the Islamic world to confront environmental
challenges and protect our planet.

Current Status
The Green Waqf Initiative, covering 6,052.22 sq. yards of Waqf land, has made steady progress, including
the formalization of a strategic partnership and project launch with Jamia Tur Rasheed. Key preparatory
milestones such as soil analysis, feasibility assessment, and design and landscaping have been completed,
providing a strong foundation for implementation. The initiative was also presented during the 2nd
Sustainable Tourism Forum & Expo 2026 Pitch Session, enhancing its visibility among stakeholders. ICCD
is currently advancing the implementation phase in close coordination with Jamia Tur Rasheed, including
the initiation of on-ground development activities.
